Day 28 - I headed to Bonneville. The day before I had no rear brake. The redivide was empty. I bled both from and back before checking the petroglyphs at the campsite. I couldn’t distinguish the graffiti from the real thing. With no plaque, I decided to head on. The rear brake still soft because of worn pads. At Eureka I made the emergency phone call to a motorbike repair shop at Grand Junction. The central location to be pivotal as my chain had reached its final length of adjustment. To my misfortune it was a long-weekend (the day Friday). The parts would not be delivered until late next week. I considered how far my chain would take me and booked the bike for a service. I ate my cheese, hotdog bun and sauce I stole from the gas station. I pushed on to Ely and finally the campsite on a lake outside West Wendover. To my dismay all I found was a smelly flat land riddled with mosquitoes. As darkness fell, I hightailed to the next town holding my lights upward with one hand to detect any deer for 15 miles before I made it to the Casino town on the border of Utah. I setup camp on BLM land (free) surrounded by moths. Beats mosquitos ✌️
