Day 38 - I headed to Denver. Phil told me of an ‘abandoned mining town’ 8 miles down the road. I went early morning with Brin’s GoPro strapped to my head. I made it 2.5 miles to a cabin before I split due to the time. The sun pounded the scenery as I left camp and headed up Independence Pass - 12,000 feet on the Continental Divide. I pushed on to the stunning Twin Lakes and Dillon (spelt incorrectly 🙄) with their autumn leaves bringing a fascinating glow of green, yellow and red. I took a speedy mountain pass through Keystone, Arapahoe and Loveland Resorts. Fired through Georgetown to Grant and up to the winding hills to an overlook of Denver. I witnessed the flat plains where the mountains end and my Easterly run across the country will begin. I turned back for a off-road camp near Montana Mountain keen to checkout the Rocky Mountain National Park and hide from the terrifying flat plains.
