Day 48 - The coldest day. I wrapped up at the Eaglefeather’s early. The rain cleared but the chill was worse than when I was wet. 10 degrees Celsius at 75mph is hard on the bones as I struggled to clear the straight farmland of South Dakota into Iowa. I made it to camp only to find it flooded out. A quick Google revealed a nearby paid camp for only $10. A young man rolled up in a golf buggy and asked if I’d broken down. I said no and thanked him for his concern. He drove back and left a sweet spot in my heart. I rolled into Bailey Ford Camp and found a beautiful sanctuary, spotted with families and trout fishing spots. I grabbed some food at the nearby town, gathered some firewood and warmed myself in the cool air.
