Day 49 - A push to Chicago. I welcomed the sun and dried my gear. A group of taking wedding photos in the beautiful park nearby. I rolled out of the Trout camp and into the nearby cafe for coffee. I planned the journey to Chicago in the 20. No free campsites along the way. The roads began to roll into green hills scattered with beautiful tiny towns and the architecture began to change from white fenceless houses to brown brick and industrial. I began to get excited as I could feel the Chicago influence when by surprise I crossed the mighty Mississippi. I lost my phone off the bike at 80mph. My Quad Lock phone holder finally failing. I gathered it off the freeway and got into outer West Chicago. I got caught out by tolls, a Harley rider with his girl called me a “badass” (again) and I found that any nearby camp/Airbnb would cost me. So I grabbed a Motel 6 and rested my head to the delightful sounds of sex next door. I’m pretty certain the girl in the lobby was a prostitute and the fire brigade arrived soon after checking. Gosh I love the city ❤️
