Day 89 - Gift Shopping in LA. The second last day of the trip. I had my final coffee in the USA and established the coffee really does suck. If you ask for coffee you’ll be given Americano and when you ask for Latte you’ll be disappointed. Forget the table service. Today I was on the hunt for gifts. I went back to the dodgy Mexican Gift Shop and grabbed the bottle openers the cute old lady held for me. Her niece was working and her dog barked at me incessantly. We chatted about the origins of the items while the canine displayed his dislike for me. I collected the voodoo dolls I sent to LA from New Orleans for my nieces. A big thank you to Janine Braider for putting me in contact with her friend, Brett, who kindly took delivery of them. I picked them up from his office despite him being in Florida. I paced the shopping mall and wondered how I ended up here when I’d been to so many brilliant places I could’ve got gifts (apologies family). I ended up at a Japanese gift store. It was cool. I met a potential buyer for the bike and failed to sell. I layed on the couch, watched Jerry McGuire and gorged on as much food as I could. Tomorrow I will be on a flight home. @ Los Angeles, California
